Korrect has been used and evolved by a number of select independent record labels in the past few years – including Domino Records and Union Square Music.

As a result, keeping and updating sales and royalty information is much less time and labour intensive – previously all data had to be entered manually into several spreadsheets, whereas now it only has to be done once.

Domino’s Royalties Manager Clare McKinney said: “The digital revolution has changed how royalties are paid, and made it much harder to keep track if you have a lot of artists on your roster.“

Before using this system, we monitored everything on spreadsheets, which are fine if you have less than 30 artists, but incredibly time and labour intensive as you expand and deals become more complicated.

“Korrect keeps everything in one place, which means we can process royalty payments, monitor revenue streams for our artists, and link it all in with our accounting system.”

Union Square’s (previously used Counterpoint) Financial Controller Beverley Jones also said: “We’ve been using the system since 2002, and it’s made our accounting processes much simpler.“

Everything is now done in-house, unlike previously when we had to outsource royalty information, so the process is much less time consuming and more cost-effective.

“And it can generate user-friendly reports to help us analyse our sales figures and produce royalty statements.”
